By Crumbs, they’ve gone and done it!

Sunday 6th October 2019 welcomed the biggest Crumbs Awards since its launch three years ago at Bristol’s Old Vic. We were delighted to celebrate the finest food and drink establishments and award-worthy talent across Bristol and Bath with our fellow F&B champions.

Bertie our much-loved vintage Citroën H Van welcomed the evening’s party people offering a little courage, with and without the Dutch outside one of the oldest working theatres in the English-speaking world.

The Sailors Ruin – an exotic rum-based tipple paired with our fearsome Ginger & Juniper sparkler, perfect for the courageous voyager. Kudos goes to Daymark 1683 for the rum, making this clinkable drinkie a huge hit on the night.

Merry Mock-Jito – all the heft and none of the hooch in this lemon and mint cordial- based mojito mocktail; the ultimate in teetotal tippling.

On to the awards

We were thrilled to sponsor the ‘best pub and bar’ category at this year’s awards. With so many champions in this area, it was an honour to then present the winners, The Orchard Inn, with their well-deserved gong. This delightful pub is one of Bristol’s few remaining free houses, selling cider on the premises for over 180 years – Bravo!

Here’s what the panel had to say:

“The Orchard Inn is a stand-out offering in Bristol, with cider at the heart of what it does. A true, honest local pub”

The Crumbs Awards were set up in 2017 to celebrate and champion Bath and Bristol’s diverse, exciting and forward-thinking food scene in its entirety, they recognise everyone from chefs to events teams, producers to front-of-house stars, as well as all those heroes and projects working hard to make culinary waves in the community.
