Food Magazine Reader Awards 2018
This year Frobishers was delighted to again sponsor a category – the Best Café category – with nominees epitomising the icing on the cake in terms of the best places to nip out for a quick bite to eat!
Held at Jamie Oliver’s Fifteen Cornwall on February 5th, guests on the night were also treated to a stunning Italian menu with drinks served from ourselves and other sponsors, including Sharp’s Brewery and Enotria & Coe.
Marketing Manager, Jessica Waller attended the event and presented the Best Café category award to the owners of the Gylly Beach Café in Falmouth, Simon and Viv Daw, along with their staff. The venue was commended for its innovative family run ethos and a menu that centres on offering locally sourced food in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere.
Close runners-up in the Best Café category included Block in Barnstaple and Society Cafe in Bath.
Commenting on the evening, Jessica says;
“These awards are always such a major event in the South West’s foodie calendar, gaining huge interest from both Food Magazine readers and the industry as a whole. An amazing 20,000 votes were received this year, demonstrating that good food really does matter to the people who live, work and play in our area. Frobishers is immensely proud of its South West heritage and connections, you’ll find us lining the fridges and shelves of many pubs, restaurants, hotels and cafes in the region. Thanks again to Food Magazine for championing our great food and drink heroes and for allowing us to be part of these gastronomic celebrations.”
