South West’s finest food celebrated at Trencherman’s Awards

Chefs, restaurateurs, producers, suppliers and foodies came together to celebrate the best of the South West at the annual Trencherman’s Awards on 9 November.

As sponsors of the Trencherman’s Guide we were lucky enough to attend the awards, held at Rick Stein’s Seafood Restaurant in Padstow, Cornwall, to see who members of the Trencherman’s Club had voted for this year.

Best Restaurant was deservedly won by the brilliant Ben’s Cornish Kitchen, The Swan in Bampton won Best Pub and John Hooker, from the Cornish Arms in Tavistock scooped the title of Best Chef.

We were treated to a delicious five-course meal from some of the best chefs in the South West including Anton Piotrowski, Gordon Jones, Stuart Pate, Stephane Delourme and chairman of the Trencherman’s Guide, Michael Caines.
